An Inspired Advent: Day 22

Nanette Webb #handmadeholiday pajamas Fabric Holidays Inspiration

The last #handmadeholiday item on my sewing table every year are matching Christmas jammies for my kids.

Many years I’ve been up at 5 or 6 on Christmas Eve morning cutting and stitching. But it’s so worth it. It’s the big secret what the pjs will look like until Christmas Eve.

We eat dinner, open the pjs and head out the door for Midnight Mass. When we get home they put them on and  hop into bed!

I seem to be ahead of myself this year; I have two whole days and I already have them cut out! Whew!

I cheat a little, since I only make the bottoms. I buy a long-sleeve T-shirt at GAP or Target and embellish it to match the bottoms.

The pattern is Burda 9747. The fit is great. This year I’m using this fabulous Rodeo Flannel from Portugal – it’s SO soft!

I usually get patterns I don’t carry in the shop on sewingpatterns.com. You can look through hundreds of the bigger pattern brands in the comfort of your own home! And if you can’t wait for the mail, you can download most of them and print them out at home.

Since they’re not quite done – AND it’s a secret – I will just show you a few of the ones I’ve made in the past. Surprisingly, the faux rabbit fur makes a great applique!

This was last year, and I’m so bummed I didn’t get them both together! It’s the faux fur snowman!

Here is two years ago with our organic campan knit. We are out of this color, but we have others!

These Ts had a cute print already, but I used our Amy Butler polka dot flannel for these and appliqued a snowman on the pants.

Older photos are on another computer – so this will do for now.

Anyway…we are on our way to the mall now to get the T-shirts!

I’ll post this year’s picture on Christmas day!
