Nan Fabric Inspiration online store projects sale Trims

We’ve got some great new fabric, trim, and buttons coming!! Here’s a sampling of some we’ve already received:

First is a polyester knit with a large floral tropical print. This would make a great tank or wrap dress.

Another great new knit is this cotton/polyester blend, with an intricate burnout pattern and subtle golden-yellow diamond print. This would make a really cool t-shirt, like the Sewaholic Renfrew.

This silk is semi-sheer, with cream-colored polka dots. We have some blouse patterns that would be lovely made up in this fabric, such as the Colette Jasmine, or the Deer & Doe Datura or Airelle (available in-store or by phone only). Equally gorgeous would be a lined dress, like the Colette Chantilly.

Here’s another beautiful silk. This one seems to me to have the weave texture of linen, but drapes better and is much softer. It would be wonderful in any of the blouses, but I love it so much, I think I would go for a full-out dress. A Colette Laurel would be nice, and the Sewaholic Cambie would be especially sweet made up with this fabric. It does have a slight sheerness, so if I made a dress out of this, I would probably line it.

Okay, this one’s really cool! The fabric isn’t very heavy, but it’s a net so it doesn’t have much drape. This would be best in something with a lot of structure, like the Sewaholic Cordova Jacket or something without many lines the Colette Laurel. There are both purple and brown sequins in it, and the selvedges are finished in a cool fringe-y way. When the fabric rep showed us this one, it was layered over an electric blue fabric (much like this one) and it looked so cool, I think that’s why we went for it.

We’ve also got some new trims, here’s one of them. This would look stunning as a cuff bracelet, on a belt, as trim for a bag, or even as a wide headband. This trim is a little on the expensive side, so this would be a great embellishment for something really spectacular. Or you could use small pieces, like for a bracelet or headband.

We’re eagerly awaiting the rest of the goodies! Stay Tuned!
